Le CEPN, Centre d’étude sur l’Évaluation de la Protection dans le domaine Nucléaire, est une association à but non lucratif, créée en 1976, pour évaluer la protection de l’homme contre les dangers des rayonnements ionisants, sous ses aspects techniques, sanitaires, économiques et sociaux.
Les recherches et les études sont réalisées par un groupe de recherche pluridisciplinaire d’une douzaine de personnes. Le bilan du programme de recherche et d’études est présenté chaque année à un Conseil Scientifique qui émet des recommendations sur l’orientation de ce programme.
Les membres actuels de l’Association sont : Électricité de France (EDF) et le Commissariat à l’Énergie Atomique et aux Énergies Alternatives (CEA).
